FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Butcher’s Block is dedicated to safe play and ensuring every pet owner knows the risks and signs of danger when supervising their dog with a bone. Please take a look through our FAQs for a further understanding of bone and treat safety.
Don’t forget always to have fresh water available when giving bones and treats to aid digestion!

Every dog is different based on breed, age, and chewing style.
Close supervision is always required when bones, chews, and toys are present. A bone breaking or splintering is no longer safe to chew and should be thrown away. Our bones and treats are 100% natural and are expected to break down over time and continuous play. As mentioned before, always provide fresh water to aid in digestion.

All bones given to dogs should be wider than the width of the dog’s mouth to minimize the risk of choking. It should be impossible for your pet to swallow or fit the bone around their jaw. The best policy is to always opt for a larger size bone to ensure it does not become a choking hazard. Once the bone decreases in size, it is time for a new bone!
Close supervision is required when bones are within your pet's reach. Bones are a 100% natural product and small pieces are bound to come off of the bone. If the bone is splintering, breaking, or has decreased in size, it is time to replace.
